About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Payments Manager to lead and optimize our payment operations across all global markets. This role will be responsible for managing payment processing, improving transaction success rates, ensuring compliance across regions, and driving partnerships with payment providers worldwide.
This is a single global role, responsible for overseeing all geographies rather than region-specific ownership.
Key Responsibilities
Payment Operations
- Oversee end-to-end payment processing (authorization, capture, settlement, reconciliation) across all regions
- Monitor global transaction performance and optimize approval rates
- Manage relationships with payment gateways, processors, and acquiring banks worldwide
- Ensure smooth operation across all payment methods (cards, bank transfers, wallets, local methods)
Strategy & Optimization
- Develop and execute global payment strategies adaptable to different markets
- Analyze payment data across geos to identify trends and optimization opportunities
- Implement routing, retry logic, and smart payment flows
- Drive cost optimization (fees, FX, chargebacks)
Compliance & Risk
- Ensure compliance with international regulations (PCI-DSS, regional frameworks, etc.)
- Manage fraud prevention strategies across multiple markets
- Monitor and reduce chargebacks globally
- Work with legal/compliance across jurisdictions
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Partner with Product, Engineering, Finance, and Risk teams
- Support global payment integrations and launches
- Act as the internal expert on payments worldwide
Vendor Management
- Negotiate global contracts with providers
- Evaluate new payment technologies and local payment solutions
- Maintain strong partner relationships
