PolicyBind is looking for a Quantitative Analyst to sit at the center of our performance marketing operation. This person will ensure our bidding systems, auction strategies, and performance analytics are deeply data-driven and continuously optimized for efficiency and scale.
The role demands strong analytical rigor, fluency in SQL, and comfort working in fast-moving, ambiguous environments. The right candidate will translate raw data into actionable insights that directly impact ROI across millions of marketing events per day.
Core Responsibilities
• Auction Efficiency & Bid Optimization
• Analyze auction performance data (clicks, calls, leads) to uncover inefficiencies, margin leakage, and scaling opportunities.
• Develop and monitor quantitative models that guide bidding logic and budget allocation.
• Partner with engineering and media teams to implement and refine automated bidding rules.
• Performance Analytics
• Own key metrics such as CPA, GP per lead, source hygiene, conversion rate, and payout efficiency.
• Build Looker dashboards and SQL views to track media performance at every layer (vendor, campaign, client).
• Provide rapid directional reads and performance alerts to decision-makers.
• Data Infrastructure & Quality
• Write and maintain queries against Postgres (and potentially Snowflake/dbt).
• Validate data integrity across ingestion layers (raw_vendor_* → L1 → L2).
• Collaborate with BI and engineering to harden data pipelines and reduce reporting latency.
• Experimentation & Modeling
• Design and measure tests to improve ROI (e.g., time-of-day bidding, traffic mix adjustments, disposition-based targeting).
• Apply statistical and machine learning techniques to predict conversion or margin outcomes.
What “Good” Looks Like
• Delivers fast, accurate reads on campaign performance with minimal supervision.
• Finds quantitative levers that drive measurable GP improvement.
• Establishes trusted, repeatable reporting pipelines.
• Anticipates data issues or auction inefficiencies before they show up in financials.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative field (Math, Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, etc.)
• 3–5 years of experience in a data-driven marketing or marketplace environment
• Advanced proficiency in SQL (Postgres preferred); strong data modeling and query optimization skills
• Familiarity with Looker or similar BI platforms
• Comfort working with large datasets, experiment design, and performance metrics
• Bonus: experience with Python, dbt, or bid management platforms
