What You’ll Be Doing

Moonpig is seeking a talented, action-oriented Head of Performance Marketing to lead our Performance Marketing team. The position reports to the Director of CRM and Performance Marketing at Moonpig and is based in London, England. 


  • Lead Moonpig’s Performance Marketing function across SEM, Google Shopping, Paid Social, Display, Affiliates & App/Play Store Marketing in UK, US & Australia
  • Set strategy, own traffic & revenue forecasts, set budgets and deliver overall performance against plan
  • Work closely with Commercial team to deliver significant top and bottom line business impact through short and long term improvements in the Performance channels
  • Develop and own clear and insightful performance reporting, delivering insights inform future marketing and commercial decisions and direction
  • Own, measure & evaluate daily, weekly and monthly performance against traffic, CPO and ROI targets
  • Continually optimise for revenue & profit growth whilst improving marketing performance and efficiency
  • Lead Performance Marketing team through developing and delivering a bold culture of innovation through test & learn; identifying new opportunities to invest and drive profitable growth
  • Feed all insights back in to create a continuous process of testing and refinement
  • Collaborate with internal cross-functional stakeholders to strengthen, expand and diversify the Performance Marketing channels
  • Work with other teams across the business including Marketing, Commercial, Analytics,
  • Product & Technology to support daily, weekly and monthly trading, with a particular focus on four main peaks: Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Valentine’s Day and Christmas
  • Identify & champion technology requirements to ensure Performance Marketing has best in class technology, reporting and insights
  • Manage external agencies and technologies effectively; maximising service/offerings and recognising and addressing needs for strategic guidance/gaps in internal resources
  • Manage a team of 3 – 5 Performance Marketers: coaching and development, building best practice and creating a world class operation

  • You will be responsible for developing and executing Moonpig’s Performance Marketing strategy encompassing SEM, Google Shopping, Paid Social, Display, Affiliates & App/Play
  • Store Marketing
  • A minimum of five years of experience of Performance Marketing, including a successful leadership role
  • Extensive experience of eCommerce, including some experience of working in retail businesses where there is a strong focus on daily trading performance
  • A strong track record of delivering growth with proven ability to deliver consistently
  • strong results
  • Expert-level knowledge & experience of scaling direct response Google brand, non-brand
  • PPC and Google Shopping campaigns, preferably within a retail/eCommerce vertical
  • A deep familiarity with Google Search Ads360 bid management software, tracking technology, Martech & Adtech
  • Extensive Google Shopping experience
  • Proven experience in testing and rolling out new technologies and practise to drive top-line growth and ROI
  • Strong analytical & problem solving skills, highly proficient in Excel and Google Analytic and able to draw conclusions and recommendations based on data & analysis
  • Highly commercial, balanced with a customer centric mindset, displaying strong judgement & a bias to action
  • Strong commercial campaign management focus
  • A highly collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to perform in a fast-paced environment, balancing multiple projects and processes whilst delivering to tight deadlines
  • Ideally you will have worked in-house and have agency-side experience also
  • Proven track record coaching, developing, mentoring and growing digital marketing experts (previous line management experience is essential)
